The Giya is a feat of audio engineering and sums up the attention to detail and design which has made Vivid Audio one of the most highly recognised loudspeaker brands in the world. Standing over 1.7 meters tall, the Giya’s cabinet is internally sculptured to act as a tapering tube for the bass drivers, thus removing any internal standing waves that can have a drastic effect to the performance. When listening to the Giya, you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a much smaller design, such is the tightness and precision of the bass. That is until a deep bass note is played and then you would be under no illusion as to its quality.
The rest of the design is classic Vivid Audio. The Giya is a 4-way, 5 driver design which uses tapered tube loading for the three, forward-firing (high, mid and mid/bass) drivers. The cabinet is made from a fibre-reinforced sandwich composite borrowed from the high-performance aerospace and marine world that allows for the creation of the demanding shape required to achieve the rigidity necessary for the design without incurring a huge weight penalty.
The completed design exemplifies what can be achieved when loudspeaker designers are given a free hand to develop what they believe to be one of the finest loudspeakers in the world. The Giya does just this and has already won numerous accolades the world over.
