BRANDL TONEBASES revolutionized the construction design of sound furniture by developing new techniques and opened up new perspectives for listening and its functionality. The basic construction design developed by BRANDL is until today cutting-edge in the modern production of sound racks worldwide. Regarding production techniques BRANDL has led the way as well – severest guidelines determine the system. Experiments were conducted to find the most suitable materials for both sound and quality.

The pipes of the supporting frame are filled with quartz sand, the vertical as well as the horizontal ones. The biggest and most sophisticated clou in the entire concept may well be the tailor made shelves. Depending on the equipment which will rest on them they get filled with either quartz sand or lead shot. Padded layers of birch wood have proved as ideal for the shelves, a material experienced boat builders swear by for decades.

All our bases are equipped with heavy spikes which ensure firm contact to the floor. In addition each shelf is uncoupled from the main frame with the help of small spikes that sit on leather plates. Each model comes with a circular level to facilitate horizontal adjustment of the sound base. Thus optimal sonority is guaranteed; the Copulare itself as well as its incomparable sound characteristics remain for decades in their unique quality.

BRANDL Tonebases uses only first-grade timber carefully selected cut and stored by experienced specialists. The wood dries gently and gets time to ripen until it can be processed optimally.

The same meticulous attention is given to the processing of precision tubes, colours and leather. They too are subject to natural variations in their texture. It is our challenge to make each sound base perfect in its own way.
